CONTACTOR BASED AUTOMATIC TRANSFER SWITCHES
A critical component of any emergency power system, Eaton's contactor based automatic transfer switch quickly and safely shifts the load circuit from a normal power source to the emergency source, permitting critical loads to continue running with minimal or no outage in momentary losses of power. Designed with operational simplicity in mind, the compact design and user friendly front panel interface simplifies routine operation, programming, and setting adjustments.

BYPASS ISOLATION TRANSFER SWITCHES

Contactor Bypass Isolation Transfer Switches
The unique Eaton design includes separation between control and power components. The ATS and Bypass isolation contactors are mounted in separate compartments with protective barriers between them which prevents the possibility of contact with the rear-mounted power connections to the contactors.
  • Eaton's Contactor Based ATS with bypass isolation is rated for
100 - 1200A up to 600V.
  • It is available in delayed or closed transition.
  • UL1008 and CSA 22.22 No. 178-1978 listed.
  • Front accessible with top and/or bottom entry.
  • Optional Dual ATS capabilities.  Dual ATS technology allows both the
ATS and the Bypass switch to operate as automatic transfer switches.
  • Draw-out capabilities on both ATS and Bypass compartments.
  • No service interruption when transferring to bypass.
  • Power switching devices interchangeable between ATS and Bypass portions.

MAGNUM BYPASS ISOLATION TRANSFER SWITCHES

The Magnum series automatic transfer switch with bypass isolation is designed to excel in applications where total system coordination must be accomplished while achieving a high level of withstand, interrupting, and closing performance. Service, inspection, and testing may be performed while maintaining constant power to the load.

  • Eaton's Magnum Based is rated for 200-5000A in Open, Delayed or Closed Transition configurations.
  • Eaton's Magnum Transfer Switches are UL 1008 listed with a thirty cycle short time rating. In addition, the
use of optional electronic trips allows performance curve shaping to facilitate proper system coordination
and application.
  • Rear/side/top or bottom entry cable access with an option front access cubicle.
  • Reliable microprocessor logic.
  • No service interruption when transferring to bypass.
  • Power switching devices interchangeable between ATS and Bypass portions.
  • Draw-out capabilities on both ATS and Bypass compartments.

  • Rated for 40-1200A up to 600V in 2, 3 or 4 pole configurations. Eaton's contactor based transfer switch is available in open, delayed, closed transition and non-automatic style.
  • UL1008 and CSA 22.22 No. 178-1978 listed.
  • The bypass isolation option provides industry leading Dual ATS technology, which allows both the ATS and the bypass switch to perform as automatic transfer switches.
  • The contactor transfer switch offering is available with the ATC-100 controller (40-100A open and delayed transition), the ATC-300 controller (40-1200A open and delayed transition), and the ATC-800 controller (40-1200A open, delayed and closed transition).
  • Specific and Any breaker ratings across entire contactor line provides the highest level of user flexibility in selecting the right transfer switch for your application.
  • Momentarily energized solenoid operating mechanisms offer a fast and reliable method of transfer.  The operating mechanism ie electrically and mechanically interlocked in open transition applications  to prevent inadvertent paralleling of source 1 and source 2.
  • All contactors 400A and below contain a stationary arcing contact and all contactors 600A and above contain a separate moveable "break first, make last" arcing contact.
  • Field-selectable multi-tap transformer panel permits operation on a wide range of system voltages.
  • Keyed quick-disconnect plugs are provided for easy and complete isolation of the control circuitry.
  • Programmable plant exerciser standard in all controller models
MAGNUM BREAKER BASED AUTOMATIC TRANSFER SWITCHES

The Magnum family of transfer switches offers the highest withstand capacity in the industry. Designed for applications where total system coordination must be accomplished, they offer a variety of standby power applications for critical and non-critical loads. During normal power interruption, these switches will automatically transfer the load circuits to the emergency power source. Once normal power has been restored, the process is automatically reversed.

  • Rated for 200-5000A up to 600V in 2, 3 or 4 pole configurations. Eaton's Magnum transfer switch is available in non-automatic, open, delayed, closed, and soft load transition.
  • Eaton's Magnum Transfer Switches are UL 1008 listed with a thirty cycle short time rating,  In addition, the use of optional electronic trips allows performance curve shaping to facilitate proper system coordination and application.
  • Available with Eaton's ATC-600 controller for open and delayed transition applications and the ATC-800 controller for closed transition transfer switches.
  • Drawout construction is available for applications such as critical life support systems where preventive maintenance, inspection, and testing must be accomplished while maintaining continuous power to the load.
  • Allows for system testing without power interruption and prevents block-loading of the engine generator set.
  • Multi-Tap Voltage Selector provides for application on a variety of system voltages.
  • Each switching device is independent which allows it to be replaced either with a spare switch a replacement unit available from the factory.
  • Completely enclosed contacts add a measure of safety and reliability and ensure the integrity of the contact assemblies. This minimizes the need for periodic maintenance of the contacts, reducing downtime and maintenance time.
  • Keyed quick-disconnect plugs are provided for easy and complete isolation of the control circuitry.
